Birthday Snow

I have very strong feelings about the cold.  I tell my kids not to use the word "hate," but that's pretty much how I feel about the cold.  I think the word hate might be permissible when discussing a weather condition that makes me feel like my body is caving in on itself.

Yes, I am a bit dramatic.

I ask Brian on a daily basis if we can move back to Hawaii.  He tells me he would most likely have to quit his job and work in surf shop and I won't be able to buy any more clothes for the kids.  But what do they really need in Hawaii anyway?  It's sounding pretty good right about now.

However, I do have to admit that snow makes for some purty pictures.

And like that, in the blink of an eye, she is five.
No more baby, no more toddler, all gone.

My little girl, all grown up.

Sweet as can be...with an eye roll here and there.

We kept the party small this year.  Just a family dinner followed by a girls'
lunch at the American Girl store with Mimi, Nana, Mommy and the bestie (and birthday buddy).  The family party had a little "Frozen" theme which was quite appropriate given the arctic cold that has invaded our area. We even had to move the party up a day due to the giant blizzard (3 inches) that paralyzed the DC area.

Did I mention the kids were out of school for a week!?!  But I digress...

Back to the party pics.

Yes, We're Still Here

Blog?  What blog?  I know, I've taken a loooong hiatus from posting.  I blame the dreary, cold winter.  I kind of just want to crawl into a hole during this time.

Anyway, here are some Christmas pics.  Better late than never... I guess?
